Storage Wars Texas Season 1 Episode 2 – Bounty Hunter Bubba Fett

December 14, 2011 | Author: | Posted in Storage Wars

The second episode of the Storage Wars Texas series, the storage auction takes place in Irving, Texas, near Dallas. The episode opens up with Morris “Moe” Prigoff driving in with his classic car. Moe Prigoff seems to be this spinoff series version of Barry Weiss. “The Colonel”, Walt Cade began the first storage auction, and the unit revealed a bunch of games, golf clubs, glass bottles, and neatly packed boxes. Victor Rjesnjansky, Lesa Lewis, Moe Prigoff, and Bubba Smith were battling it out on this unit. It got down to a war between Lesa and Bubba, and Bubba prevailed in the end, winning the unit for $925.

The second unit of the day was a small, barren unit. It showed a wooden futon inside, and mostly junk. Nobody wanted this, yet Victor Rjesnjansky felt that he could get this unit cheap, and perhaps find something good inside. When the bidding started, Victor opened up with a $10 bid. A lady countered at $18. Victor came back at $20, and she quickly threw in the towel and Victor won the unit for $20.

The third and final storage unit auction of the day commenced, and this unit appeared to have sewing related items inside. There was a sewing machine, hangers, and other items that appeared to be thrift store types of content. Moe and Lesa battled it out. She didn’t want to lose out because she thinks the men do not take her seriously. A heated battled ensued, at one point with Lesa covering up Moe’s mouth with her hand. He made the comment “who knows where that hand has been.”  Moe eventually won the unit for $750, and Lesa went away really feeling pissed off.

When Rick Smith and Bubba Smith inspected their unit, they found some swords and body armor. They also found what appeared to be some original Star Wars action figures. They took the items to Dallas Vintage Toys to be valued. The man who inspected the action figures estimated the first toy to be worth $3000-$3500! The second came in at $750, the third at $1500, and the final Star Wars action figure came in as the most rare expensive of the bunch. He could not give a solid price, but the last one he remembers seeing was sold was 10 years ago, for $3000. So, it was definitely worth much more than that at today’s prices.

When Victor inspected his unit, he found the futon of course, but he also found an old gym bag. When he opened it up, he found an unusual Swiss Army knife. It was huge with lots of blades and tools! He felt it could have some real value, so he took it to a knife expert who identified it as a Wenger Swiss Army knife. It featured 120 different functions. He gave an initial value of the knife at $1000, then Victor offered to sell it to him at that price. They guy said he could not pay that much, but he would give him $300. Victor came back asking for more money, and the two mutually agreed on a price of $500 because they “liked each other.”

In addition to the sewing machine and other sewing related items, Moe found a crystal ball and a set of fortune teller cards in his unit. He felt these items in the storage unit had the most potential. He went to a fortune teller and she valued the crystal ball at $400, and the fortune teller cards at $350.

At the end of the day, the auction results were as follows:

Ricky Smith and his nephew Bubba Smith made a profit of $8000
Victor Rjesnjansky, “The Outsider” earned a profit of $570
